Domestic Wholesale Orders
Placing a Domestic Wholesale Order
Bulk orders of cacao beans, cocoa butter, cocoa powder, or cacao nibs are arranged directly through Meridian's sales team, who will walk you through the process and help tailor it to your business needs (flavor profile, origin, certification, and/or price point). Please contact us at info@meridiancacao.com to get started.
Points to keep in mind when ordering:
Current Availability: Bean availability depends on harvest cycles and is offered first-come, first-served, so it's worth checking what's in store. As such, we suggest a timely turnaround when sampling our beans, and we also suggest thinking ahead about your cacao needs, as our availability is subject to change.
Current Pricing: Bean prices can vary by origin and volume, so please contact us for an up-to-date price guide.
Samples: 1-kilo (2.2 lbs) and 5-kilo increments are available on our online store for testing roast and conch profiles.
Order Size: There is no minimum purchase requirement. Orders can range from 1 kilo up to hundreds of jute bags (45~70 kg each, or 100~155 lbs each, depending on origin). Price breaks apply at 5+ bags and again at 3 metric tons or more.
Mix and Match Origins: You can combine one bag each of five different origins onto a pallet and get our 5+ bag price.
Lead Time: Once your order is finalized, it takes 2 days to get the shipment picked up by a trucking company, and an additional 2-6 days of transit, depending on your factory's distance from our warehouse.
Payment: New customers pay cash against release. After a history of 3+ completed orders, payment terms up to Net 30 may be available at Meridian's discretion, with a 1.5% monthly finance charge on delinquent accounts. Accepted payment methods include debit/credit card, PayPal, check and wire transfer; card and PayPal payments carry a 3% processing fee.
Quality Assurance Review: Beans undergo biannual heavy metal testing (except microlots/one-time ferments) and microbial testing per lot. Since raw cacao isn't intended for consumption without a "kill step" like roasting, makers are encouraged to conduct their own testing before selling finished chocolate.
