Place Domestic Order
How to Place a Domestic Wholesale Order
- Contact Meridian Cacao Co. to start your order. Bulk orders of cocoa beans, cocoa butter, cocoa powder, or cacao nibs are arranged directly through their sales team, who will walk you through the process and help tailor it to your business needs (flavor profile, origin, certification, or price point). Email us at info@meridiancacao.com.
- Check current availability. Bean availability depends on harvest cycles and is offered first-come, first-served, so it's worth confirming what's in stock before finalizing an order. The origins page is kept updated, but phone or email will have the most current information.
- Request a sample if you want to test before committing. Chocolate companies interested in purchasing by the pallet (around 8 jute bags) can request a 1-kilo sample. Smaller 1-kilo and 5-kilo increments are also available on the online store for testing roast and conch profiles.
- Get current pricing. Bean prices vary by origin and volume, so you'll need to contact the company directly for an up-to-date price guide.
- Decide on order size. There's no minimum purchase requirement — orders can range from a single kilo up to hundreds of jute bags. Price breaks apply at 5+ bags and again at 3 metric tons or more. Mixed origins can be combined on a single pallet and still qualify for the 5+ bag price.
- Arrange payment. New customers pay cash against release. After a history of 3+ completed orders, payment terms (up to net 30) may be available at Meridian's discretion, with a 1.5% monthly finance charge on delinquent accounts. Accepted payment methods include debit/credit card, PayPal, check, and wire transfer; card and PayPal payments carry a 3% processing fee.
- Review quality assurance info if relevant to your business. Beans undergo biannual heavy metal testing (except microlots/one-time ferments) and microbial testing per lot. Since raw cacao isn't intended for consumption without a "kill step" like roasting, makers are encouraged to conduct their own testing before selling finished chocolate.
